Third Report on the state of foreign immigration to the province of Piacenza, Year 2006

"This third provincial report on the state of foreign immigration update the 2003 edition. It follows in its architecture the scheme adopted, and now consolidated in previous reports: a photograph of the presence in the territory rich in provincial disagregations and completed with comparisons with the national and regional situation, accompanied by monographic study on relevant aspects of the immigrant presence at local level. The update date is the first of January 2006. Yet there is no discontinuity between the second and third edition, since it has been possible to reconstruct the historical series covering the 2004 and 2005 period in which the report had no schedule. In comparison with the previous edition, however, major changes are pointed out in the composition of the immigrant population, changes that only apparently surprise....."

"It 'a fact that more and more elderly people are looked after by foreigners almost exclusively female, who often perform duties of care, and quite difficult ones. There is a lack of precise data on the actual extent of the phenomenon, it is barely visible job, more often intentionally hidden.
