The activities carried out by CEDOMIS, Centre
for Migration Studies and Documentation SCALABRINI are
directed to three main areas:
Center of Studies
- It supports and undertakes studies
and research pertaining to goals and aims of CEDOMIS; it
also works together with public and private
institutions;
- It investigates migration themes in
the area of St. Joseph Province in support of the action of
the Communities;
- It carries out activities of
informing and awakening the world of education.
Counseling
- It carries out thematic
investigations on the physiognomy and lines of action of
the Communities in St. Joseph Province;
- It activates workshops and formation
activities;
- It offers counseling in the analysis
of the context and in the planning stage to the
Communities of St. Joseph Province.
Library
- It provides a broad repertoire of sources
documenting migration;
- It produces alternative sources about
migrants' stories;
- It collects materials of cultural
expression by migrants such as objects, images, music,
sounds, letters and texts written by migrants;
- It places the existing inventory at one's
disposal through a dedicated computer program also available
on line;
- It offers counseling service and tutoring
to individuals and institutions studying migration
or similar issues.
